Likes:
Outdoors.
Having been kept cooped up by his overprotective mother, Cris developed a desire to be free. His definition of free extended purely to 'being outside'. As such every venture outdoors meant a great deal to him, to the point where he would often sneak out when his mother's back was turned. Cris began to venture further and further from home, expanding his boundaries. He felt that there was so much he could learn from the wide world and cherishes every moment. Cris enjoys the feeling of being 'free' and so if kept inside will often sit beside a window with a gloomy face, dreaming of what he could be doing.
Quidditch.
It was Cris' younger cousin, Caecilius, who first introduced him to Quidditch on Theophilius', his elder cousin, stolen broom. They took turns throwing a pillow through a make-shift goal hoop. He knew such adventurous activities would frighten his mother and so enjoyed it with delight. It was also the only common interest he shared with Caecilius, and Cris was eager to maintain his friendship by learning the game. The pair would bond of collector's Quidditch cards and the rare games of Quidditch on borrowed brooms. Eventually, Cris came to love the sport simply because he couldn't remember otherwise.
Distractions/Adventures
Cris is often troubled by the circumstances surrounding his father. He will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it, as such welcomes any form of distractions. Having very little freedom in his childhood, Cris loves getting to experience new things and will often go in search of them. He is still filled with a wonderment of new things and gets great enjoyment from it.
Dislikes:
Enclosed Spaces/St. Mungo's/Indoors
Cris spent much of his early life cooped up somewhere. Whether it was in his home under the strict supervision of his mother, or the claustrophobic St. Mungo's room his father inhabits. None of this was willingly as such, he came to harbour a great dislike for it, which somewhat extends onto those who impose it.
Night-time.
As a young child Cris misunderstood what little his mother had told him about his father's job. As such he developed an increasing fear that dementors lived in every shadow. Terrified that he would become invalided like his father from his own fears he was haunted by nightmares throughout his childhood. In his later years of Hogwarts Cris learnt what dementors truly were, however, years of fearing something has left him with a remaining dislike.
Foolish wand-waving (spell classes)
Cris lacks skills in spell-casting and is better suited to physical studies. Once the novelty of magic wore off, he found no enjoyment in the subjects and as such came to dislike it. The fact that most of these classes took place in, well, classes only fuelled this dislike.
Motivation: To explore new things and forget his troubles.
Strengths:
Quidditch.
A physical person by nature Cris is rather gifted at Quidditch, whilst he could never consider going professional and can be outmatched by a skilled player he has trained hard to become a decent player.
Imaginative/mischievous
Cris is a curious boy with a rather large imagination. He can consider possibilities that others might not imagine and always sees the wonder in things.
Third
Weaknesses/Flaws:
Spiteful.
Cris can be somewhat childish in his behaviour, when he feels slighted he often takes it out on other people. His desire to make friends means that he won't be outright about it, instead he will commit small acts that he knows upsets people. For example, his mother has a distaste for dirt, as such he may deliberately tread mud into the carpet on the pretence of accidence of course. Or check out a library book he knows a fellow students needs for study, and pretend to have lost it if they ask to borrow it only to "find" it when it is no longer needed.
Dishonest.
In order to make himself seem more likeable to people Cris is often dishonest. Whilst it may be small things, such as jokingly stating that an encounter with a dragon was how he lost his tooth, he may also go to great lengths to create friendship. Sometimes even claiming things falsely to have something in common with someone, for example, if someone tragically lost a brother in an accident, Cris may invent a similar story to bond with them.
No patience.
Cris is a 'here and now' kind of guy. He very rarely gives pre-thought to things, or considers things too deeply. To expound on the above he doesn't given consideration on the impact of his dishonest on his friendship further down the line. He hates to wait for things and can sometime go to extreme lengths in order to get it "now" if it isn't immediately available by normal means.
Fears: Dementors. The dark. At least three things
Personality: What is your character like in general
Bio:
Cassia Fawley was a beautiful witch, many often said that she was out of the league of Caecilius Blishwick, a rather ordinary British wizard except for his employment with the wizarding prison of Azkaban.
Regardless, the unlikely match were married and with child. The presence of the dementors was draining on Caecilius, he became a depressed and rather bitter man but dedicated to his job he refused to quit.
Before young Crispus had even reached his first birthday Caecilius had been driven to insanity, a recluse in his own mind, an investigation was immediately launched had he mistakenly been kissed by a dementor? He was carted off to St. Mungo's a decision was reached, the cause was not a kiss just their presence, and like many of Azkaban's inhabitants, the prisoners and the few human guards who dealt with the things the foul creatures could not, he had lost his sanity to it.
It was believed that time away from the dementors could alleviate his symptoms, but he did not recover. His own brother, Servius acted as if he had died, naming his newborn son in his honour.
Crispus would have no memories of his father before the dementors' madness stole him away, instead memories of endless hours cooped up in a St. Mungo's hospital room carrying conversation with a living corpse.
Burdened with raising a young son on her own, and terrified of losing the only reminder of her son Cassia became overprotective. She rarely let Crispus leave their home on the outskirts of Hogsemeade and only parted him to relatives with the greatest deal of reluctance throughout his early years.
As a growing child Crispus was not so easily contained. When his mother's back was turned he would embark on an adventure. One of his favourite places was the post office, where he developed a fondness for owls. He could often be found wondering the streets of Hogsmeade and charming the many residents and visitors.
Crispus would always return before night fell, from what little his mother had explained about his father he had become convinced that dementors lived in every shadow and could not sleep without a night light.
And even then he would spend considerable time tossing and turning, terrified that the dementors would burst through his window. But the fatigue from his exhausting adventures, combined with his mother's soothing lullabies would always tempt him to sleep. However, he would often wake up screaming from the nightmares that plagued him filled with dementors in the dark.
By the time that he had started Hogwarts Crispus, despite his mother's influence, was a confident and charming boy. Although he had garnered a penchant for telling tales to make himself seem more likeable in order to gain friends.
During his second year Crispus participated in a mock Quidditch game with some fellow students, during one of the few moments when the pitch was free. Crispus was playing the position of a chaser when a fellow student, a beater, attempted to hit a bludger towards the opposing team. Unfortunately, the bat collided directly with Crispus' mouth loosening a few teeth and knocking two out. One of the missing teeth was a front tooth, the second was his final remaining milk tooth that he had been wiggling loose for days. In his surprise he loosed the quaffle through the goal post.
Luckily his remaining teeth, even the loose ones, held fast and caused no further problems. He refused to allow Madame Promphrey to fix or replace his missing adult tooth, after all, it would be a permanent reminder of his first goal in Quidditch and great story to tell. The story of course would later become gradually over exaggerated to the point the facts may have been lost entirely. An encounter with a dragon may have even worked its way into the story.
Crispus finally made it onto the Quidditch team in his sixth year, and whilst he tried out as a chaser he was instead given the position of beater.
His wand does not favour spell-casting and Crispus certainly lacks skill in this area. His preferred subjects are Care of Magical Creatures and Herbology. He would much rather be outside than stuck in a stuffy classroom.
